Europe Records Over 68,000 Pro-Palestine Activities Across 818 Cities Since October 2023

London: Pro-Palestine demonstrations and related activities have spread across Europe on a significant scale over the past three years, with more than 68,000 events recorded across 818 cities in 30 European countries, according to figures cited by the European Palestinian Media Center (EPAL).

The data covers the period from October 2023 to October 2026 and includes both physical demonstrations and digital activities linked to pro-Palestine mobilisation. According to the report, a total of 68,162 activities were documented during the period. These included 53,480 physical demonstrations and events and 14,682 digital activities.

Italy recorded the highest number of physical events, with 8,558 activities across 188 cities. Germany followed with 7,839 events across 141 cities, while Spain recorded 6,779 events across 134 cities.

France reported 5,977 activities across 127 cities, followed by the Netherlands with 3,817, Denmark with 3,715, Sweden with 3,451, and Belgium with 2,483.

The report also recorded significant levels of mobilisation in countries including Ireland, Austria, Switzerland and Greece, indicating that pro-Palestine demonstrations have extended beyond major European capitals to smaller cities and local communities.

EPAL, however, cautioned that the figures represent documented activities and should not be considered a complete count of every event held across Europe. The organisation noted that the large number of local groups and the geographical spread of activities make comprehensive documentation difficult.

The figures also measure the number of events rather than the number of participants. Therefore, the data does not provide an estimate of how many people took part in the demonstrations.

The scale of the documented activity nevertheless highlights the continued visibility of the Palestine issue in European public discourse since October 2023, with street demonstrations, public gatherings and digital campaigns remaining important forms of mobilisation.
