Israeli Forces Set Tent Camps Ablaze in Gaza, Displacing Over 800 Palestinians

On Sunday evening, Israeli forces set fire to a tent camp sheltering displaced Palestinian families at the Shuja’iya junction, east of Gaza City.

According to Gaza’s Ministry of Public Works and Housing, the fire forced more than 200 Palestinian families, including over 800 displaced people, to leave the camp.

The ministry said Israeli quadcopters set the camp on fire around 8 p.m. The flames destroyed tents and personal belongings and continued to burn for hours past midnight.

Most of the affected people were women, children, elderly people, and sick people. After losing their tents, these families were left without shelter, making their already difficult living conditions even worse.

The ministry called on the international community, the United Nations, and the UN Security Council to take immediate action to protect civilians from Israeli attacks.

It also urged relief organizations to quickly provide tents, temporary shelters, and essential supplies to families who lost their homes in the fire.
