Amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza, a new report has once again revealed the severity of the situation. The Gaza Rights Center (GRC) has stated that in the 47 days since the ceasefire was implemented, 350 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli military actions. Among them, 198 are people who require the highest level of protection — children, women, and the elderly. The organization reported that the deceased include 130 children, 54 women, and 14 elderly individuals.
According to the report, most of these deaths occurred in areas that had been designated as ‘Yellow Zones’ during the agreement and were considered safe.
Apart from those who lost their lives in the attacks, 889 people have also been injured, including 539 children, women, and elderly individuals.
In addition, the GRC report stated that over the past seven weeks, there has been a ‘consistent and systematic’ violation of the ceasefire by the Israeli army. According to the organization’s monitoring teams, since October 10 there have been near-daily incidents of attacks, artillery shelling, military incursions, targeting of civilians, obstruction of aid supplies, and restrictions on movement.
The GRC says that these incidents demonstrate that despite the ceasefire, the difficulties faced by ordinary people in Gaza have not ended.
