ALIGARH, January 13: The Department of Community Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), observed National Youth Day on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda by organising community outreach programmes at the Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC), Jawan, and the Urban Health Training Centre (UHTC), Qila Road, Aligarh.
Under the guidance of Prof. Mohd. Athar Ansari, Acting Chairperson, Department of Community Medicine, the programmes were organised to sensitise adolescents and young adults about their role in nation-building, self-reliance, and responsible citizenship. At RHTC, Jawan, the activities were conducted under the supervision of Dr. Tabassum Nawab and Dr. Mohd. Yasir Zubair, while the UHTC programme was supervised by Dr. Suboohi Afzal, Lady Medical Officer.

At both centres, postgraduate doctors and interns delivered motivational talks focusing on Swadeshi values, discipline, moral conduct and social responsibility. Speakers highlighted the importance of youth as a driving force in transforming India into a developed nation. At RHTC, the talks were delivered by Dr. Talha Noor, Dr. Anam Farhat, and Dr. Yuvrajsinh Raj, while at UHTC, Dr. Suboohi Afzal and Dr. Danish Kamal addressed the participants.
The programmes witnessed active participation of postgraduate doctors, junior residents and interns, along with village youth, adolescents and young parents. Around 40 participants attended the RHTC programme. The sessions concluded on an inspiring note with reflections on Swami Vivekananda’s ideals and his message of self-belief and perseverance.
