Escalating military operations in the West Bank and East Jerusalem: what is happening and why the situation is tense.

The situation in the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem is rapidly becoming more tense. From Thursday night to Friday morning, the Israeli army carried out large-scale raids and arrest operations simultaneously in several cities, towns, and refugee camps. These actions have further deepened the atmosphere of fear and instability among ordinary people.

First, in the Al-Ram area located north of Jerusalem, a large number of soldiers targeted a house. This house belonged to the family of a Palestinian man who had previously died. The army searched the house and damaged belongings. This is being seen as part of a policy in which pressure is also exerted on the families of those who have been killed.

The situation in Nablus appeared even more serious. Raids were carried out in different areas, including Haifa Street, the Balata refugee camp, and Sufian Street. One person was arrested, and several homes were entered and searched. There were also reports of mistreatment of local residents, which further increased tensions.

Similarly, military operations were also carried out in Burqin near Jenin and in the village of Nabi Ilyas in Qalqilya. In these places, soldiers entered homes and conducted search operations.

In the Ramallah area, the Jalazone refugee camp and Al-Mazra’a Al-Sharqiya were targeted. A different kind of incident also occurred here: some Israeli settlers placed flags at the entrance of the town of Turmus Ayya, which local residents described as a provocative act. All of this happened in the presence of the army, further increasing anger among the people.

Operations also continued in the southern West Bank. Homes were searched and residents were intimidated in the Aida refugee camp near Bethlehem and in the village of Al-Dirat near Yatta.

When all these incidents are viewed together, it becomes clear that these are not just isolated raids, but part of a broader strategy of military pressure being implemented simultaneously across multiple areas.

Meanwhile, a serious incident took place in the Qalandiya refugee camp. Clashes broke out with local residents after the Israeli army entered the area. Soldiers used live fire and tear gas, and a Palestinian man was shot in the abdomen. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Overall, the repeated operations in refugee camps and cities across the West Bank and East Jerusalem are steadily worsening the situation. Ordinary civilians are feeling increasingly unsafe, and the risk of unrest in the region continues to grow.
