Israeli strikes in Lebanon continued despite Trump’s claims of a ceasefire.

Beirut: Despite U.S. President Donald Trump announcing a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah, Israeli attacks continued in southern Lebanon. This highlighted a significant gap between diplomatic peace efforts and the realities on the ground.

According to reports, Israeli drones carried out three strikes on the town of Toul, while shelling was reported in the areas of Nabatieh al-Fawqa, Choukine, and Kfartebnit. Israeli fighter jets also launched an attack near Tebnine. According to National News Agency, four people were killed in a strike in Marwaniyeh. Casualties were also reported in Shhour, while three people were injured in Al-Bazourieh.

In addition, Israeli aircraft targeted several areas, including Al-Bazourieh, Siddiqine, Yater, Bint Jbeil, Mansouri, and Buyut al-Sayyad. Meanwhile, Hezbollah claimed that it had carried out a drone attack on two Merkava tanks in the Baloua area of Haddatha.

On Monday, Donald Trump said that an agreement had been reached to reduce tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, and that both sides would halt their attacks. However, the latest developments appeared to contradict that claim.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, warned that if the attacks continued, the ongoing negotiations could come to a halt and the situation could move toward direct confrontation.
