The humanitarian toll of Israeli attacks on Lebanon continues to grow, with the country’s Ministry of Public Health reporting that 4,175 people have been killed and 12,164 others injured since March 2.
According to the ministry’s daily report released on Monday, 49 additional deaths were recorded over the past 24 hours. Rescue and recovery teams remain active in affected areas, continuing efforts to search for victims trapped beneath the rubble.
The Lebanese Civil Defense said that the bodies of 13 victims were recovered from under collapsed buildings in the southern districts of Nabatieh and Marjayoun. The discovery highlights the scale of destruction left behind by the attacks.
Meanwhile, a ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel has come into effect. The development follows a memorandum of understanding reached between Iran and the United States.
The ceasefire is expected to help bring an end to military escalation and create an opportunity to address the humanitarian consequences of months of fighting that have affected communities across Lebanon.
