The Israeli army demolished three Palestinian homes in the Bethlehem area of the occupied West Bank on Wednesday morning, claiming that the structures had been built without permits. The demolitions have once again drawn attention to ongoing actions targeting Palestinian homes in the region.
According to local sources, Israeli forces, accompanied by bulldozers, entered the Qarnat al-Da‘mas area of Nahalin town, southwest of Bethlehem, and demolished two Palestinian houses. The families living in the homes had reportedly been forced to evacuate a week earlier. The demolished properties belonged to Ahmed Najajira and Mohamed Awad.
The report states that the demolitions are part of a wider campaign in Nahalin, where Israeli authorities have previously targeted 14 homes and other structures in different parts of the town.
In a separate operation, Israeli bulldozers escorted by soldiers demolished another Palestinian house in the village of al-Maniya, south of Bethlehem.
The report also highlighted a similar incident in the Arab town of al-Bi’ina in the 1948 occupied Palestinian territories. After residents were displaced from the property, Israeli bulldozers razed a house belonging to the family of Munir Bakri.
Residents reportedly attempted to stop the demolition, leading to clashes in the area. According to the report, Israeli forces assaulted and arrested several citizens during the events.
