Rajouri Teacher Mohammad Ayaz Raina Selected for National Teacher Award, Brings Pride to Jammu and Kashmir

A proud moment for Jammu and Kashmir has emerged from Rajouri, where government school teacher Mohammad Ayaz Raina has been selected for the National Award to Teachers 2026. Raina, a Lecturer in Botany at Government Higher Secondary School, Dalhori, has been recognised for his contribution to education and his dedicated service to students.

According to reports, Raina is the only teacher from Jammu and Kashmir selected for the national honour this year. His selection highlights the contribution of teachers working in government schools, particularly in areas where providing quality education can be challenging.

Raina has around 13 years of experience in the education sector and has previously received recognition for his work. He was also honoured with the National ICT Award in 2017 for his contribution to the use of technology in education.

The National Award to Teachers is presented to educators who have made a significant impact through innovative teaching practices, academic initiatives and efforts to improve the learning environment for students.

Raina will receive the national honour on September 5, Teachers’ Day. His selection is being seen as a significant achievement for Rajouri and a matter of pride for the entire Jammu and Kashmir region.
