Abu Jazer has reported from Gaza and was a press advisor to the Palestine Authority

Abed Elrazeg Abu Jazer, a former journalist from Gaza, is the new chargé d’affaires of the Palestine Embassy in India. This was announced during a Deepavali event held in Delhi on October 29, 2024. The occasion was graced by External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, and Foreign Secretary, Vikram Misri.
Abu Jazer stepped into this role following the retirement of the previous Palestinian Ambassador, Adnan Abu Al Haija. Indeed, like all citizens connected with Palestine, and especially Gaza, he carries an overwhelming burden of angst in the context of the collective suffering experienced by the people out there. Besides, in the midst of the conflict, his wife and children were stuck in
Gaza. It took a while to get them to escape to Cairo.
According to media reports, Abu Jazer, a former journalist who has reported from Gaza, described the abysmal conditions prevailing in the ravaged landscape of Gaza, with the massive scarcity of electricity and drinking water, including food. Each day the situation is getting worse.
Before his posting in New Delhi in 2014, he has worked with various media outlets. He was a press adviser to the Palestinian Authority. He has also done a a PhD from Jamia Millia Islamia in Delhi on India’s Palestine policy.
