Ambassador Ignacio Greets Filipino Fellows of the 2025 JGU Research Program.

Eight young Filipino scholars chosen for the prestigious 2025 “Naveen Jindal Young Global Research Fellow Program” of India’s highest-ranked private university, O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU), were warmly received by Ambassador Josel Ignacio on 4 July 2025.

Fellows comprised Emanuel C. Manahan (Holy Angel University, Pampanga) and Joemar Minoza, Lislee C. Valle, Florieza Mangubat, Sylvester T. Cortes, Purity V. Mata, Jane Polyn Bejoc, and Rubygrace Guia of Cebu Technological University. They were joined by Prof. (Dr.) Rahul Bhandari, JGU’s Director for Institutional Advancement & Strategic Global Engagement.

While they were there, Ambassador Ignacio, accompanied by Consul General Maria Cynthia P. Pelayo and Cultural Officer Bernard O. Cabal, engaged in a reflective discussion with the fellows on furthering Philippines–India educational collaboration and enhancing overall bilateral ties.

Educational relations are a mainstay pillar of the expanding friendship between India and the Philippines. The gathering echoed both nations’ mutual interest in nurturing academic exchange and international engagement.
