Egypt’s Embassy in New Delhi organized a grand reception to celebrate the 73rd anniversary of the Glorious July 23, 1952 Revolution. H.E. Ambassador Kamel Galal and his wife received dignitaries such as Chief Guest H.E.
Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister of Culture and Tourism of India. Ambassadors, diplomats, senior government officials, media persons, and civil society members attended the occasion.

During his speech, Ambassador Galal highlighted the deep historical and civilizationally rooted relationship of Egypt and India dating back to the Nile and Indus cultures and renewed through the Non-Aligned Movement.
He highlighted recent economic and cultural trends, especially with rising Indian investment in Egypt and building tourism and academic interchanges. The launch of EgyptAir’s Cairo-New Delhi route was highlighted as a milestone.

Minister Shekhawat reaffirmed India’s strong strategic ties with Egypt and hoped that bilateral coordination for trade, culture, and tourism would be enhanced. The ceremony underscored the tried friendship and shared aspirations.
