Peru Celebrates 204th Independence Day with Cultural Evening in New Delhi

July 24, New Delhi At a lavish reception held at the Shangri-La Eros Hotel, the Peruvian Embassy in India commemorated the 204th anniversary of Peru’s independence.

As the Chief Guest, the Honorable Minister of Coal and Mines, Shri G. Kishan Reddy, graced the occasion. Ananga Malatesta, a talented Peruvian dancer with training in ballet, contemporary dance, and Bharatanatyam, gave a special cultural performance that evening.

Among the Indian and Peruvian songs she performed were Pushpanjali, Vírgenes del Sol, and Vaishnava Jato, which was first performed by the well-known Afro-Peruvian vocalist Eva Ayllón.

The celebration emphasized the long-standing friendship and mutual respect between India and Peru as well as the growing cultural ties between the two countries.
