India’s Ambassador to Thailand, H.E. Nagesh Singh, gave the keynote speech during the ASEAN-India Tourism Forum, convened by the Tourism Authority of Thailand. He underscored tourism as a leading pillar of the economy, especially in the context of the ASEAN-India Year of Tourism 2025.
Identifying the ASEAN-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, Ambassador Singh highlighted the important role of tourism in further economic engagement, improved connectivity, and enhanced people-to-people exchange throughout the region.
He also remembered the recent ASEAN-India summit conducted in Chennai, where stakeholders discussed opportunities in cruise tourism and maritime connectivity in the Indo-Pacific.
The event also reinforced the mutual commitment to realizing the complete potential of sustainable tourism between ASEAN countries and India.
