Belgian Ambassador Highlights Expanding Belgian Investments in Andhra Pradesh

New Delhi– Ambassador Didier Vanderhasselt met with the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu, on the occasion of the presentation of the Task Force Report on Swarna Andhra Vision 2047 in New Delhi. The vision report was jointly presented by Task Force Co-Chairman Shri N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons Ltd., and Shri Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

During the course of the meeting and the ensuing dinner, Ambassador Vanderhasselt shared details regarding Belgium’s growing economic footprint in Andhra Pradesh across several sectors:

Green Hydrogen in Kakinada – Indian business conglomerate Greenko Group and Belgian firm John Cockerill are developing the largest electrolyser plant (Phase 1: 1.3 GW) in the world, in phased investments of INR 1100 crore (€110 million).


Sri City Medical Equipment – VERMEIREN, the leading hospital equipment maker in Belgium, is undertaking its fourth expansion investment, which will generate job opportunities for over 1,200 workers.
Food & Beverage – Global brewer AB InBev has returned to Andhra Pradesh and is increasing investment after robust growth potential in the brewing sector in the state.

The meeting was a landmark in the intensification of bilateral investment ties and reiteration of Belgium’s interest in Andhra Pradesh’s future economic development.
