Indian Defence Advisor Meets Thai Deputy Chief of Joint Staff

Group Captain Ashish Tirkha, Defence Advisor at the Embassy of India in Thailand, paid a courtesy call on General Paiboon Vorravanpreecha, Deputy Chief of Joint Staff of the Royal Thai Armed Forces.

Both sides had useful discussions to underline commitment to improving the defence relationship between India and Thailand. Future areas of defence cooperation were talked about, such as working together in defence industries, joint training and military exercises, and enhancing communications of strategic defence.

The meeting underscored the commitment of both countries to deepening their defence engagement and regional peace and security. It further emphasised the value of regular high-level dialogues to work in mutual strategic interests.

This visit confirms the growing defence cooperation between India and Thailand based on trust, mutual respect and vision for improved use of defence ties in the Indo-Pacific.
