New Delhi, August 27, 2025 – Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to India, Mr. Azamat Yeskarayev, met with the Secretary of Higher Education of India, Mr. Vineet Joshi.
During the meeting, Ambassador Yeskarayev highlighted the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and India, noting that Kazakhstan highly values its longstanding strategic partnership with India. He underlined the growing cooperation in the educational and humanitarian spheres, which continues to strengthen people-to-people ties.
The Ambassador also introduced the “Study in Kazakhstan” project, designed to promote Kazakhstan as a regional academic hub in Central Asia. He stressed the importance of education as a key pillar of bilateral relations and emphasized the potential for expanding direct contacts between universities of both countries through joint research initiatives and student exchange programs. In this context, the Indian side was invited to conclude and implement a memorandum of understanding to further advance cooperation in education.
Secretary Vineet Joshi, in turn, spoke about the “Study in India” online portal, which enables foreign students to apply to more than 160 Indian universities and offers over 2,600 academic programs.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to take concrete steps aimed at deepening cooperation in the field of education.
