The Opening Ceremony of Japan Month 2025 was held at the Embassy of Japan in India. H.E. Ambassador Sibi George, New Secretary (West) of the Ministry of External Affairs, India, was welcomed as the Guest of Honour.
The event featured a beautiful koto performance by Ms. Shimizu, showcasing songs from both Japan and India. A special talk was delivered by an Indian anime voice actor, providing insights into the growing cultural connection between the two countries. The ceremony also included a tea gathering in the Ryūrei style (table and chair style), hosted by Ambassador Ono and tea instructor Mrs. Hara.
These moments celebrated the richness of Japanese culture and the strong people-to-people ties shared by Japan and India.
