Kazakhstan Expands Geography of Cooperation in India

Hyderabad, September 18–19, 2025 – H.E. Mr. Azamat Yeskarayev, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to India, paid a working visit to Hyderabad, where he met with the Hon’ble Governor of Telangana, Mr. Jishnu Dev Varma.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, investment, healthcare, and education. Special attention was given to enhancing transport connectivity, including the opening of direct flights from Kazakhstan to Hyderabad and Ahmedabad.

The visit, organized by Dr. Nawab Mir Nasir Ali Khan, Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan in Hyderabad, included meetings with leading companies and organizations of the region:

  • Power Mech Projects Ltd. – discussions on participation in infrastructure projects in Kazakhstan.
  • NephroPlus – preliminary agreements on advanced medical technologies and joint projects in Kazakhstan.
  • GMR Group – discussions on expanding flight connections and cooperation in transport infrastructure.
  • Apollo Medskills – talks on joint training programs for medical specialists, telemedicine projects, and the creation of a Medical Hub in Kazakhstan.
  • KIMS Hospitals – exchange of expertise and introduction of advanced medical practices in Kazakhstan.
  • SAP Medical – discussions on equipment production and healthcare cooperation.

Preliminary agreements were reached on investment projects in Kazakhstan’s economy, including energy, medicine, infrastructure, and education. Several companies expressed readiness for direct investments, including Power Mech Projects Ltd. (USD 50–500 million) and NephroPlus (USD 10–15 million). The Kazakh side emphasized that these efforts align with the priorities outlined by the Head of State in his September State of the Nation Address.

Additionally, on September 17, 2025, Ambassador Yeskarayev met with Mr. Mahendra Joshi, founder of Big B Corporation. Discussions focused on implementing large-scale investment projects in Kazakhstan. Mr. Joshi informed that Kazind Medical Group LLP has been established to drive these initiatives, with planned projects in the Almaty region including a hotel, a university for 10,000 students, a campus, and a 1,000-bed hospital.

Kazind Medical Group has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Akimat of Almaty Region (August 15, 2023) and another with NC KazakhInvest JSC (September 2, 2025). Similar projects are also under consideration in Akmola region. The company expressed its intention to establish a Medical Hub in Kazakhstan, while also exploring opportunities in the mining sector, with an estimated total investment volume of around USD 1.6 billion.

Ambassador Yeskarayev assured that the Embassy will extend full support for the implementation of these projects, including advisory and visa assistance.
