ALIGARH, September 24: As part of the Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi celebrations, schools of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organized a series of soulful programmes and competitions to highlight the noble life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). Students across AMU campuses expressed devotion through Naats, Qirat, speeches, and cultural performances, reflecting the spiritual essence of the occasion.
At STS School, an Inter-School Naat Khwaani Competition brought together talented students from different AMU schools. After a moving series of performances, NoorulMadar (STS School) and Huzaifa Rashid (RMPS AMU City School) shared the First Prize. Adeeba (AMU ABK High School Girls) won the Second Prize, while Mohd Zoqain (STS School) and Aliya (AMU City Girls High School) jointly secured the Third Prize.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Mr. Faisal Nafis emphasized that Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi reminds us of the Prophet’s eternal message of peace, kindness, and compassion, and praised the students for their devotion.
Mr. Syed Ikram Haider Jafri. conducted the programme while Dr. Mohd Irfan proposed the vote of thanks.
AMU ABK High School (Girls) also organized a special assembly, where Class X students delivered speeches and Naats describing the Prophet’s noble qualities and the love and respect shown to him by his companions. The programme conveyed the true spirit of Eid Milad-un-Nabi and inspired students to follow his teachings. Principal, Dr. Saba Hasan, shared a meaningful message with students during an interactive session.

Adding to the celebrations, AMU Girls’ School organized an Inter-School Essay Writing Competition under the able guidance of Principal Mrs. Amna Malik and Vice Principal Mrs. Alka Agarwal, with dedicated planning by Cultural Coordinator Mrs. Zeba Nawaz and support from event in-charges Ms. Nusrat Parveen, Mr. Javed Alam, and Dr. Mohd Alam. The event aimed to foster critical thinking, enhance writing skills, and promote awareness about Seerat-un-Nabi. A total of eighteen students from different AMU schools participated in the event. They expressed their ideas in English, Hindi, and Urdu, on the topic “The Character and Morals of Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him).”
Meanwhile, Abdullah School hosted an Inter-School Naat and Qirat Competition among AMU schools. In the Naat competition, Zoya Anees (AMU City Girls High School) secured the first position, Hamza Kalim (STS School) won second, and Kazim Khan (AMU ABK High School Boys) bagged third. In the Qirat competition, Mohd Zaid Wasim (AMU ABK High School Boys) stood first, Hammad Alam (Abdullah School) came second, and Safiya (AMU City Girls High School) took third.
The programme was coordinated by Ms. Umra Zaheer and Ms. Sheeba Siddiqui with support from school staff, including Mr. Mohd Merajuddin, Ms. Ana Fatima, and Ms. Arshia Aftab.
