New Delhi, October 10, 2025. Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of India Azamat Yeskarayev held a meeting with Secretary West of the Ministry of External Affairs of India HE Mr. Sibi George.
Ambassador Yeskarayev congratulated Mr. George on his recent appointment and briefed him on the current state and prospects for the development of Kazakhstan–India cooperation, noting the positive dynamics of interaction in the political, trade and economic, cultural, humanitarian, and educational spheres.
The Kazakh diplomat particularly emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts in the investment sphere, as well as achieving the previously agreed target of increasing bilateral trade turnover to USD 3 billion. In this context, the parties discussed ways to expand imports and exports, as well as opportunities to diversify the trade structure. They also considered the prospects of Indian companies’ participation in major investment projects in Kazakhstan.

Both sides highlighted the importance of strengthening people-to-people ties. They discussed measures to boost tourist exchanges, develop educational programs, and create more favorable conditions for business travel and cultural interaction.
In the context of preparations for upcoming bilateral events at various levels, the sides stressed the need to further enrich the agenda with practical initiatives. In this regard, Mr. George expressed readiness to accelerate preparations for the upcoming consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, which are expected to result in concrete steps to deepen high-level dialogue.
The diplomats also noted that the current regional and global context creates additional opportunities to expand cooperation and align positions on key issues. The parties exchanged views on the upcoming “Central Asia – India” Summit of Heads of State, which is expected to serve as an important platform for promoting joint initiatives and further strengthening Kazakhstan–India relations.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to maintain regular contacts and continue advancing joint initiatives in areas of mutual interest.
