On 8 October, the Embassy of France in India hosted French Volunteering Day (Journée du Volontariat Français/JVF), in collaboration with France Volontaires Inde, celebrating the spirit of international solidarity and volunteerism.
The event brought together stakeholders, partner organizations, and the youth to discuss how International Exchange and Solidarity Volunteers (V.I.E.S) contribute to tackling environmental challenges.
Mr Damien Syed, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy, underscored in his inaugural speech the vital role of volunteers in driving positive global change and strengthening cooperation between France and India.
The day featured inspiring testimonies, a thought-provoking panel on “Greener Futures with V.I.E.S: Local Action, Global Impact”, an interactive workshop on e-waste management, and a lively climate quiz, all highlighting how collective action can lead to a more sustainable future.
We commend all volunteers and partner organizations whose commitment continues to build bridges between cultures and embody the shared spirit of solidarity and cooperation.
