French language in the spotlight at Mayo College, one of India’s oldest and most prestigious educational institutions!
Close to 1,000 students came together to celebrate their passion for the French language and Francophone culture at the yearly « Concours de la Francophonie » in Ajmer.

The 3 day event, organised entirely by the students themselves, was closed with beautiful performances and an award ceremony.
By learning new languages, we deepen our understanding of others, and build bridges across borders and cultures, Ambassador Vanderhasselt stressed in his remarks.

Mayo College includes both French and German — two of Belgium’s three official languages — in its curriculum. Exchange programmes with Sint-Cordula Instituut and Kardinaal Van Roey Instituut will soon bring Belgian and Indian students even closer!
