Aligarh, October 18: As part of the Sir Syed Day celebrations, the Cultural Club of Women’s College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), organised a calligraphy competition to pay tribute to Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the founder of the university and a pioneer of modern education in India.
The event drew participation from students across disciplines, with entries from the Fine Arts Section. Participants showcased creative calligraphic works inspired by Sir Syed’s message that “Education liberates the mind and enlightens the soul; without it, no nation can rise.” The artworks, displayed in the college lawns, reflected the influence of Sir Syed’s ideas on education and social reform.

Professor Shagufta Imtiaz, Officiating Principal, lauded the young artists for expressing Sir Syed’s ideals through art. She congratulated the Cultural Club for organising the event and urged students to embody his vision in their academic and personal lives.
Among those present were Dr. Waseem Mushtaq, Mrs. Humaira Mahmood Afridi, Dr. Farah Saif Abidin, Dr. Bushra Naseem, Dr. Hina Fatima Moinee, Dr. Nuzhat Parveen, and Dr. Afsana Parveen.

The event exhibited Sir Syed’s timeless mission of enlightenment and the unifying power of education and culture.
