Hyderabad, India | October 23 — The Republic of Armenia and India held a round of high-level defense consultations in Hyderabad on October 23, reinforcing their growing strategic partnership in defense and security.

The meeting took place within the framework of the Joint Working Group on Bilateral Defense Cooperation, established last year. The consultations were co-chaired by *Levon Ayvazyan, Head of the Defense Policy and International Cooperation Department of Armenia’s Ministry of Defense, and **Vishwesh Negi, Joint Secretary for International Cooperation at India’s Ministry of Defense. Armenia’s Ambassador to India, *Vahagn Afyan, also participated in the talks.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved under the 2025 Cooperation Program and underscored the importance of expanding collaboration into new areas for the coming year. Discussions also covered regional and global security developments, with both delegations briefing each other on recent changes within their armed forces.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two defense ministries signed the *Armenia–India Defense Cooperation Program for 2026, outlining a broad agenda of initiatives. The agreement covers *high-level and expert exchanges, military education, defense technology collaboration, combat training and exercises, and experience sharing across multiple sectors.
