Trump Warns Netanyahu: U.S. Support Could Be at Risk if Israel Annexes West Bank

U.S. President Donald Trump has reportedly warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Israel could lose American support if it proceeds with plans to annex parts of the West Bank.

In an interview with Time magazine published on Thursday (Oct 23), Trump said the annexation “won’t happen,” adding, “It won’t happen because I gave my word to the Arab countries.”

His remarks come amid ongoing debates about Israel’s policies in the occupied West Bank and concerns from Arab states about potential annexation moves.

The issue remains one of the most sensitive topics in Middle East politics, as Arab nations and much of the international community have long opposed unilateral annexation, viewing it as a barrier to peace efforts with the Palestinians.

Trump’s comments underscore the delicate balance the United States seeks to maintain between supporting Israel and preserving ties with Arab partners in the region.
