Tel Aviv, November 11, 2025 — The rising incidents of sexual crimes in Israel have shaken the entire country. Tel Aviv police have arrested three Israeli men from Netanya who are accused of gang-raping an American woman tourist. All three accused are reportedly players in a local football league. The case has sparked public outrage and raised questions about the functioning of the authorities.
Meanwhile, a leaked video from the Sde Teiman detention camp has sparked a new storm. The video clearly shows a group of Israeli soldiers dragging a Palestinian detainee who is bound in chains and blindfolded. Moments later, they surround him with shields so that other prisoners nearby cannot see what is happening. Later, the detainee was found to have severe injuries and signs of sexual violence on his body.
The officer who exposed the video, Tomer-Yerushalmi, is now under investigation herself and has been placed under house arrest.
Reports from the United Nations and human rights organizations indicate that systematic sexual abuse and torture of Palestinian detainees continue. Experts say that this impunity has now spread to ordinary citizens — and the Tel Aviv incident is a painful example of that same culture.
