HILSR, Jamia Hamdard Delegation Participates in High-Profile Panel on “Justice as a Moral Calling”

A 30-member student delegation from the Hamdard Institute of Legal Studies & Research (HILSR), School of Law, Jamia Hamdard, led by Faculty Coordinator Ms. Varsha Gulaya and accompanied by Dr. Shariqa Mehmood, took part in an eminent panel discussion on November 18, 2025. The event, hosted at Auditorium No. 2, Information Centre, Bahá’í House of Worship (Lotus Temple), New Delhi, brought together distinguished speakers including Hon’ble Justice Danielle J. Forrest, Judge of the United States Court of Appeals; Hon’ble Justice Pratibha M. Singh, Judge of the High Court of Delhi; and Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon.

Centered on the theme “Justice as a Moral Calling: Reimagining Ethics in Public Life,” the discussion provided profound insights into the ethical frameworks that guide contemporary judicial and public leadership. The speakers reflected on the moral imperatives inherent in the justice system, the responsibilities of legal professionals, and the evolving expectations of integrity and ethical conduct in public life.

The participation of the HILSR delegation offered students a rare opportunity to engage with globally recognized judicial minds and thought leaders, enriching their understanding of the moral and ethical dimensions of legal practice.
