Cairo – Taking a major initiative to improve stability and humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey on Wednesday welcomed the formation of the Palestinian technical committee, headed by Dr. Ali Abdel Hamid Shath.
The three mediating countries described it as an “important step for peace and stability in Gaza” and expressed hope that this committee will play a key role in implementing the second phase of the ceasefire agreement. They are urging all parties to fully adhere to the terms of the agreement.
Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Badr Abdel Ati, stated that the formation of the 15-member administrative committee was made with the agreement of various Palestinian factions. The committee will soon be deployed in Gaza to begin managing civil affairs.
At the same time, U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff announced the second phase of President Trump’s 20-point plan. This phase includes the formation of a technical administration, large-scale reconstruction, and the complete disarmament of Gaza. The committee has been named the “National Committee for Gaza Administration,” which will set a new direction for peace, security, and development in Gaza.
