Canada is easing the route to permanent residency for international medical doctors to strengthen its healthcare system. The federal government is offering doctors five pathways to permanent residency through Express Entry and regional, provincial, and territorial programs.
In addition, medical doctors nominated by a province or territory can benefit from faster work permit processing, now taking just 14 days, allowing them to work while awaiting permanent residency. Doctors can also include their family members in their applications.
