New Delhi, January 20, 2026 – Roman Babushkin, Deputy Chief of Mission and Minister Counsellor at the Russian Embassy in India, delivered a keynote address at the inaugural session of the conference “Safe, Trusted & Frontier AI for the Next Generation National Security” at Sri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi. The event is part of the preparations for the AI Impact Summit scheduled in New Delhi in February.

The conference was attended by senior officials from India’s defense and law enforcement agencies, university deans, representatives from the media and business sectors, and students.

In his address, Babushkin discussed Russia’s approach to artificial intelligence in the context of its National Strategy 2030 and bilateral cooperation with India. He highlighted ongoing dialogues on AI governance within multilateral platforms, including the United Nations, G20, and BRICS, stressing the importance of partnerships rooted in international law and the central role of sovereign states.

Babushkin also warned against double standards, unilateral decisions, and actions that could widen the global digital divide. He called for an inclusive approach that considers the interests of the entire international community, particularly the Global South.
The conference outcomes are expected to be presented at the upcoming AI Impact Summit in New Delhi.
