Cold Claims Young Lives in Gaza: Seven-Month-Old Baby Dies, Child Death Toll Rises to Nine

According to media reports, severe cold in the Gaza Strip has claimed another innocent life. On Tuesday, seven-month-old Palestinian baby girl Shada Abu Jarad, who lived in the Al-Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City, died due to extreme cold. Medical sources said that prolonged exposure to low temperatures caused the infant to suffer a heart attack.

After this tragic incident, the number of children who have lost their lives due to cold weather in Gaza during the current winter season has risen to nine. This incident presents yet another horrifying picture of the dire living conditions faced by displaced people in Gaza. Thousands of families are forced to live in tents, severely damaged buildings, and extremely overcrowded shelters.

In these places, there is neither adequate heating available nor sufficient access to blankets or winter clothing. The situation becomes even more critical as access to healthcare services, clean water, and nutritious food is extremely limited. In such conditions, children and the elderly are at the greatest risk, and their lives remain under constant threat.

According to the report, although the ceasefire is being described as merely nominal, humanitarian aid remains tightly restricted. Delays in the delivery of essential relief supplies and winter survival items are making conditions in Gaza even more deadly.
