New Delhi, February 19: The Russian Embassy in India hosted a vibrant celebration of Maslenitsa for students of the University of Delhi, bringing traditional Russian festivities to the capital.
The event featured a lively lineup of games and contests, including pillow fights, strength and agility competitions, and traditional dances around a Maslenitsa effigy. Students enthusiastically took part in the activities, immersing themselves in Russian cultural traditions.
Guests were treated to a variety of Russian dishes, including blini (traditional Russian pancakes) and pies, offering an authentic taste of the festive season.
A special highlight of the celebration was a photo exhibition organized by the Committee for Tourism Development of Saint Petersburg. The exhibition showcased vivid images of the city’s iconic landmarks and major attractions, promoting cultural and tourism ties between Russia and India.
The event underscored ongoing cultural exchanges between the two countries and provided students with an engaging introduction to Russian heritage and traditions.
