Under the esteemed Chief Patronship of Prof. Mazhar Asif, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, and the Patronship of Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, Esteemed Registrar, the MMA Jauhar Hall of Boys’ Residence Jamia Millia Islamia successfully organized a two-day cultural event titled “Jashn-E-Jauhar 2026” on 14th and 15th February 2026.
The programme was conducted under the able leadership of the Provost, Prof. Shakeb Ahmed Khan, and the Deputy Provost, Prof. Mohd. Faisal, who ensured meticulous planning and smooth execution of all activities.
The valedictory function of the event was graced by the Chief Guest, Prof. Neelofer Afzal, Dean Students’ Welfare, whose gracious presence added dignity and encouragement to the celebrations. In her address, she appreciated the efforts of the Hall administration and students for nurturing a vibrant cultural and intellectual environment within the residence.
Prof. Abuzar Khairi, Provost of the Dr. Zakir Husain Hall of Boys’ Residence, graced the Valedictory Ceremony as the Guest of Honour. His esteemed presence added significance to the concluding session, where he appreciated the efforts of the organisers and participants and lauded the initiative for fostering cultural engagement and intellectual growth among students.
“Jashn-E-Jauhar 2.0” comprised around thirteen competitions, reflecting a blend of spirituality, intellect, policy engagement, and creative expression. The events included Qirat, Naat, Debate, Policy Making, Reel Making, Poster Making, and several other literary and cultural competitions. The Qirat and Naat competitions created a spiritually uplifting atmosphere, while the Debate and Policy Making competitions provided a platform for critical thinking and constructive dialogue on contemporary issues. Creative segments such as Reel Making and Poster Making highlighted the artistic imagination and innovative skills of the participants.
The event was organised under the valuable advisory of Dr. Mohammad Shoeb, Dr. Khursheed Afaq, and Dr. Faiyaz Ahmad, whose guidance contributed significantly to the planning and coordination of the programme. The student coordination was efficiently managed by Mr. Md. Shahnawaz, whose dedication played a pivotal role in the overall success of the event.
The two-day celebration concluded with the announcement of the names of the winners of various competitions. The dignitaries commended the enthusiasm, discipline, and teamwork displayed by the residents.
Overall, “Jashn-E-Jauhar 2026” emerged as a grand celebration of talent, unity, and cultural vibrancy within MMA Jauhar Hall of Boys’ Residence, strengthening the spirit of creativity and collective engagement among its residents.
