AMU Sociology Department Holds Session on Career Opportunities in Social Sector

ALIGARH, April 20: The Department of Sociology, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), organised an interactive session on “Career Opportunities in Social Sector” at LT-1 of the department.

Around 40 students from undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programmes participated in the session. Chairperson Prof. Mohammad Akram welcomed the resource person, Mr. Saad Hameed, Training and Placement Officer (General), and emphasised the importance of timely and accurate career guidance.

Mr. Hameed delivered an engaging talk, highlighting the need for clarity of purpose, strong academic foundation, technical and practical skills, and the development of a balanced personality. He also shared illustrative examples to underscore the importance of direction and goal-setting in career building.

The programme was supported by student volunteers Mamoon Yaseer, Nazia, Salman and Mufida. Prof. Akram thanked the resource person and students for their active participation.
