Moot Court Competition Concludes at AMU Murshidabad Centre

ALIGARH, May 7: The 7th Justice Mahmood Intra-Departmental Moot Court Competition was organised by the Department of Law, Aligarh Muslim University Murshidabad Centre, West Bengal, from April 30 to May 6.

The competition featured participation from 12 teams and included preliminary, semi-final and final rounds. The final round was judged by Prof Afkar Ahmed and Dr Asif Iqubal Shah from Xavier Law School, St Xavier’s University, Kolkata.

Addressing the participants, Prof Afkar Ahmed highlighted the importance of effective courtroom presentation and encouraged students to participate in such academic exercises. Dr Asif Iqubal Shah advised students to remain focused on facts, case laws and courtroom discipline while presenting arguments.

Ms Tanzila Rahman, a first-year BALLB student, received the Best Speaker award, while Mr Imroz Hassan of fourth-year BALLB was declared Best Researcher. Team TC-713 won the Best Memorial award.

Addressing the valedictory session, Director of AMU Murshidabad Centre, Dr Md Mahboobur Rahman, congratulated the winners and appreciated the efforts of the organising committee.

The event was organised under the guidance of Ms Shaila Mehmood, Assistant Professor, Department of Law, along with faculty members and the Moot Court Committee led by its President, Mr Md Rayees Alam.
