During a recent visit to Kurukshetra and Panipat, Deputy High Commissioner to Chandigarh Alba Smeriglio engaged with local communities to promote awareness about safe and legal pathways for travelling to the United Kingdom for employment opportunities.

Highlighting the importance of informed decision-making, Smeriglio encouraged prospective migrants to remain cautious while accepting overseas job offers and to stay alert to signs of potential fraud or exploitation.

She advised individuals travelling to the UK for work to verify whether their employer is a licensed sponsor and stressed that applicants should never hand over their passports or pay upfront fees as part of the recruitment process.

Officials noted that taking a few simple precautions can help people make safer choices while pursuing career opportunities abroad.
