Russia-India Economic Ties Strengthen Amid Evolving Global Landscape: Ambassador Denis Alipov

New Delhi, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov underscored the growing strength of Russia-India economic cooperation during a video address at the Russia-India Business Dialogue hosted by the Moscow Government as part of the 29th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2026.

Addressing participants, Alipov highlighted the complementary nature of the Russian and Indian economies, stating that the alignment of national interests enables both countries to effectively navigate a rapidly evolving geopolitical environment. He noted that the steady expansion of cooperation across a wide range of sectors, coupled with record bilateral trade turnover, reflects the shared determination of both nations to elevate their partnership to new heights in line with contemporary global challenges and opportunities.

The session brought together senior government officials and business leaders from both countries. Among the key speakers were Alexei Chekunkov, Russia’s Minister for the Development of the Far East and Arctic; Sergey Cheremin, Minister of the Moscow Government and Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow; Nara Lokesh, Minister in the Government of Andhra Pradesh; and Sammy Kotwani, President of the Indian Business Alliance, along with other prominent representatives from government and industry.

The dialogue focused on expanding economic engagement, strengthening business partnerships, and exploring new avenues of cooperation between Russia and India as both countries seek to deepen their strategic and economic ties.
