New Delhi: Ambassador Karlito Nunes participated in the Africa Day 2026 celebration hosted by the 54 African resident embassies in New Delhi. The event brought together diplomats, government officials, and representatives from African nations and India to commemorate Africa Day and strengthen diplomatic relations.

India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, attended the event as the Chief Guest. The celebration highlighted the growing partnership between India and African countries and their shared commitment to cooperation and development.
The programme featured addresses by H.E. Mohamed Maliki, Ambassador of Morocco to India and Dean of the African Group of Heads of Mission, and H.E. Jacqueline Mukangira, Ambassador of Rwanda to India. Both diplomats emphasized the importance of expanding India–Africa cooperation in trade, investment, development, and cultural exchange.

The Africa Day 2026 celebration served as a platform to reaffirm the longstanding friendship between India and African nations while promoting stronger diplomatic, economic, and people-to-people ties.
