On November 10, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov addressed the opening of the XIII All-India Conference of Russian Compatriots, organized with the support of the Russian House in New Delhi.

Denis Alipov emphasized the active contribution of compatriot associations, including the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots, to strengthening the position of the Russian language and culture, supporting traditional values, and preserving the historical memory of the Great Patriotic War WWII, the 80th anniversary of Victory in which is being celebrated this year.

Welcoming remarks were delivered by Tatiana Shlychkova, Executive Director of the Russkiy Mir Foundation, and Elena Remizova, Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in India. A message from Gennady Ovechko, Executive Secretary of the Government Commission on Compatriots Abroad and Director of the Department for Relations with Compatriots Abroad of the Russian Foreign Ministry, was also read out.

During the conference, its participants summed up the results of joint work in 2025 and discussed plans for the upcoming year, in particular activities aimed at the capacity-building of the compatriots’ movement in India.
