Tensions flared once again in the West Bank on Sunday evening, when Israeli occupation forces (IOF) detained three Palestinian children during an operation in Al-Khalil (Hebron). Meanwhile, two Palestinian youths were injured in clashes that took place in northern Jerusalem.
According to media reports, Israeli forces carried out a raid in the Al-Harayek area of Al-Khalil city. During the operation, two children from the Al-Julani family were detained. Additionally, another child was taken into custody from the town of Sa’ir, located northeast of Al-Khalil. This action created an atmosphere of fear and anger among local residents.
On the other hand, clashes broke out between Israeli police and Palestinian youths in the Qalandiya refugee camp in northern Jerusalem. The situation worsened when police opened fire on the youths. In the shooting, a 17-year-old teenager was injured after being hit by a bullet in the thigh.
Red Crescent medical personnel arrived at the scene, provided first aid to the injured teenager, and quickly transported him to the hospital. Additionally, another young man was severely beaten by Israeli soldiers and was subjected to pepper spray. He was also admitted to the hospital in serious condition.
These incidents point to the continuously rising tensions and unstable conditions in the region, where such clashes and operations are occurring frequently.
