On Wednesday morning in the West Bank, Israeli occupation forces (IOF) carried out large-scale raids and arrested 16 Palestinian civilians.
According to information, near Jenin in the town of Ya’bad, the army suddenly entered and detained eight young men. Similarly, in the city of Nablus, raids were carried out on several homes and shops, where eight people, including a teenager, were arrested.
In the town of Qusra, located south of Nablus, five people were also arrested after searches of their homes. Meanwhile, in Tammun, the army entered and conducted intensive house searches, which continued until morning.
In addition, at the eastern entrance of the city of Qalqilya, the army set up a checkpoint and restricted people’s movement. Vehicles were stopped and people’s identification cards were checked, which caused a long traffic jam in the area.
According to a report by the Palestine Center for Prisoners Studies, 610 people have been arrested in the past month in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem. Among them are 31 women and girls, as well as 39 minors.
The report also stated that during this period, a Palestinian prisoner died in an Israeli jail. This entire operation reflects the rising tensions in the region, where a continuous series of raids and arrests is ongoing.
