Shelling intensifies again in Gaza; claims of attacks on displaced civilians.

Despite the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, several areas witnessed heavy shelling and firing again on Friday. According to local sources, Israeli tanks carried out intense gunfire in the eastern part of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, while artillery attacks were also reported in other parts of the city.

There were also reports of continuous firing with heavy machine guns by Israeli naval boats near the western coast of Gaza City. In addition, artillery shelling targeted areas around the Wadi Gaza bridge, located northeast of the Nuseirat and Bureij refugee camps.

Earlier on Thursday, three police officers were killed and several others were reportedly injured in an airstrike on a security checkpoint west of Gaza City.

It is being reported that despite the ceasefire being in effect, airstrikes, artillery shelling, and attacks targeting shelters for displaced civilians are continuing in Gaza. Demolition and destruction operations are also said to be ongoing in areas referred to as the ‘Yellow Line.’ Restrictions on the movement of relief supplies, goods, and people also remain in place.

According to figures released by health authorities, since the ceasefire that came into effect on October 10 last year, 846 people have been killed and 2,418 injured so far. Additionally, 769 bodies have been recovered from the rubble.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that since the military campaign began on October 7, 2023, around 72,628 people have been killed and 172,520 injured so far.
