MSO of India Launches “Madrasa to University Connect” Campaign to Bridge Traditional and Higher Education

With the objective of connecting students of Islamic seminaries (Madaris) with higher education opportunities, career guidance, and mainstream academic institutions, the Muslim Students Organisation of India (MSO of India) has launched its nationwide “Madrasa to University Connect” Campaign.

As part of this initiative, a high-level delegation led by Maulana Arif Al-Qadri Wahidi, National President of MSO of India, undertook an extensive educational outreach visit to *Al-Jamiatul Islamia Ronahi (Faizabad District), Jamia Ashraf (Kichhauchha Sharif), Jamia Amjadiya Rizvia (Ghosi), and Jamiatul Ashrafia (Mubarakpur). During the visit, the delegation interacted with scholars, administrators, and students on various educational, intellectual, and career-related issues.

The delegation included Abu Ashraf Zeeshan, National Vice President; Dr. Mohammad Arshad Khan Rizvi, President of MSO Uttar Pradesh; and Mufti Qamar Anjum Qadri Faizi, National Media In-Charge.

At the Jamia Islamia Raunahi the delegation received a warm welcome from prominent scholars and administrators, including Allama Mohammad Salman Jami Azhari, Mufti Aqeel Misbahi Amjadi, Mufti Nasiruddin Jami Misbahi, Mufti Sharif Misbahi Azhari, and Maulana Farman Raza Owaisi. The guests were also briefed about the various academic and educational departments functioning within the seminaries.

Addressing scholars and students during the visit, Maulana Arif Al-Qadri Wahidi emphasized the importance of equipping madrasa students with both traditional Islamic scholarship and contemporary knowledge. He stated that the demands of the modern era require students to excel not only in religious sciences but also in modern disciplines, enabling them to effectively represent their faith and community while contributing meaningfully across different sectors of society.

He further remarked that a harmonious integration of religious and modern education would pave the way for constructive social transformation and empower madrasa graduates to assume leadership roles in diverse fields.

The delegation also held a special meeting with senior faculty members of Jame Ashraf, Kichhauchha Sharif, including Allama Qamaruddin Ashrafi, Sheikh-ul-Adab; Maulana Naushad Alam Jami Ashrafi; Maulana Shahid Azhari Faizi; and Mufti Sajid Hussain, where detailed discussions were held regarding educational reforms, academic opportunities, and future collaboration under the campaign.

On June 8, the delegation visited Jamia Amjadiya Rizvia, Ghosi, where an intellectual and educational interaction session was organized. The meeting was attended by distinguished scholars including Mufti Ala al-Mustafa Qadri, Nazim-e-Aala; Mufti Jamal Mustafa Qadri, Principal; Mufti Abdul Rahman Misbahi, Sheikh-ul-Hadith; Mufti Khurshid Alam; and Mufti Hassan al-Mustafa Qadri, among others.

The delegation also paid respects at the shrine of Hazrat Allama Mufti Amjad Ali Aazmi (Rahmatullah Alaih)**, the celebrated author of Bahar-e-Sharia and one of the most revered Islamic jurists of the Indian subcontinent. Prayers and Fateha were offered at his mausoleum.

Subsequently, the delegation visited the residence of renowned Islamic historian and senior scholar Allama Dr. Mohammad Asim Aazmi, Sheikh-ul-Hadith of Jamia Shamsul Uloom, Ghosi. Detailed discussions were held on academic, literary, and social welfare initiatives aimed at strengthening educational outreach among Muslim youth.

Later the same day, an important consultative meeting was held at Jamiatul Ashrafia, Mubarakpur, under the leadership of *Allama Zafaruddin Barkati. The session was attended by eminent scholars including Mufti Nazim Ali Misbahi, Nafees Ahmad Misbahi, Akhtar Hussain Faizi Misbahi, Taufiq Ahsan Barkati, Maulana Irshad Misbahi, Maulana Ziauddin Barkati, and Maulana Junaid Ahmad Misbahi.

During the meeting, the objectives and vision of the “Madrasa to University Connect” Campaign were discussed in detail. The participants were also briefed about the educational, literary, intellectual, and welfare initiatives being undertaken by MSO of India across the country.

The attending scholars appreciated the efforts of MSO of India and expressed their best wishes for the success of the campaign. They also offered prayers for the organization’s continued contribution towards educational empowerment, intellectual development, and community welfare.

The “Madrasa to University Connect” Campaign is part of MSO of India’s broader mission to create pathways for madrasa students to access higher education, professional opportunities, skill development, and active participation in nation-building while remaining firmly rooted in their religious and cultural identity.
