Nablus: The Israeli army has issued an order to demolish the family home of a Palestinian prisoner in the village of Beit Imrin, north of Nablus, as part of what it describes as punitive action.
On Sunday, the head of the Israeli army’s Central Command signed a military order authorizing the demolition of the home belonging to the family of Palestinian prisoner Dawwas Hassoun in Beit Imrin.
Hassoun has been accused of carrying out a car-ramming attack near Beit Imrin in March 2026, an incident that resulted in the death of a Jewish settler.
Israeli authorities have routinely carried out punitive demolitions of the homes of families of Palestinians suspected or accused of carrying out attacks in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
Human rights organizations and international bodies have repeatedly condemned the practice, arguing that demolishing a family’s home over the alleged actions of one person amounts to collective punishment and is unlawful.
