“Al-Aqsa Under Tighter Restrictions! 800 Bans on Palestinians in 9 Months”

Jerusalem: Israeli authorities have issued around 800 exclusion orders against Palestinians since the beginning of 2026, restricting their access to Al-Aqsa Mosque and parts of Occupied Jerusalem, according to a report by the Palestinian Information Center.

The orders have targeted Jerusalem residents, activists, Palestinians from the occupied West Bank and Palestinians inside Israel. Some orders prohibit entry to Al-Aqsa for periods ranging from one week to six months, while others restrict access to Jerusalem’s Old City and other areas.

The report says the restrictions have intensified alongside increased settler incursions into the Al-Aqsa compound and tighter measures against Palestinian worshippers. Palestinians have raised concerns that the growing restrictions could alter the existing status quo at the holy site. Israeli authorities, however, maintain that such restrictions are imposed for security reasons
