Indian Assistant Language Teachers Join Japan’s JET Programme

As part of the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme – the largest international exchange programme in the world – 11 Indian Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) have officially reported to Japan.

The 11 ALTs received their send-off in New Delhi on July 25, departed on July 26, and arrived in Japan on July 27. As you read this, each ALT is being orientated and placed throughout Japan from the snowy regions of Hokkaido to the sunny beaches of Kyushu, teaching the English language and fostering grassroots cultural exchange between India and Japan.

The JET Programme is an important facilitator of people-to-people contact and cultural exchange, and a very meaningful way to enhance understanding between our two nations. We wish each ALT well in their mission to educate young people and cultivate friendships.
