International chocolate leader Barry Callebaut has opened its third factory in Neemrana, Rajasthan, signifying a significant foray into India. As Indians develop a growing taste for premium chocolate, the company has set up a state-of-the-art 20,000 sq. meter facility to cater to both international and local customers, such as food makers, bakers, and confectioners.
This represents more than 18 years of operations in India, which today encompasses two Baramati factories, a Chocolate Academy and a Mumbai sales office, as well as a Global Business Services (GBS) center in Hyderabad.
With the recent expansion, Barry Callebaut’s cumulative investment in India in five years has exceeded CHF 50 million (€53.6 million).

The inauguration event witnessed Ambassador Didier Vanderhasselt, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Switzerland Simon Sevan Schäfer, Economic Counsellor Patrick Govaert, and Senior Advisor Flanders Trade Agency Gowri Bhasker, along with Barry Callebaut management, such as Vamsi Mohan Thati, Dr. Clemens Woehrle, and Dhruva Jyoti Sanyal.
The plant further enhances India’s role as a strategic hub in Barry Callebaut’s Asia-Pacific production network.
