New Delhi: The Embassy of Iceland in New Delhi organized a special film screening and gender equality workshop for student leaders from Mount Litera Zee School, Greater Noida West, as part of the week marking 50 years since Iceland’s historic Women’s Day Off.

Students attended a screening of “The Day Iceland Stood Still,” a powerful documentary highlighting the landmark 1975 movement when Icelandic women came together to demand fair pay and recognition for their contributions.

Following the film, the workshop encouraged students to engage in meaningful discussions, reflection, and teamwork around key themes such as fairness, equal opportunities, the value of unpaid care work, and the role of both girls and boys in fostering a more equal world.

The Embassy commended the students for their curiosity, confidence, and commitment to equality — describing them as “proof that the future of fairness is already in good hands.”
