Before winter, the condition of homeless families in Gaza is critical — UNRWA.

The ongoing war in the Gaza Strip has severely affected the lives of millions. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) has warned that hundreds of thousands of displaced people in Gaza are facing the winter without safe shelter. A large number of these families are forced to live in torn and worn-out tents, where they can barely access warm clothing, safe spaces, and basic necessities.

According to UNRWA, the latest report from the Global Shelter Cluster shows that more than 282,000 homes in Gaza have been destroyed or damaged so far. This large-scale devastation has left thousands of families homeless. Many of these families are now living in temporary tents, where space is extremely limited and privacy is almost nonexistent.

The agency said that as winter approaches, the deteriorating condition of these tents is becoming a serious threat for the people. Living in such fragile shelters during cold weather, rain, and strong winds can be extremely difficult. Despite this, UNRWA and its partner organizations are continuously trying to deliver humanitarian aid to these families. However, the agency says that under the current circumstances, people’s needs are increasing very rapidly.
